WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE - INDIA AT MSSRF

On 6th September WWF held a function to release it's catalogue of articles. On that occasion, a few people who helped the WWF were honoured and Vidya Mandir Nature Club was recognized for it's long standing effort in bringing about awareness of conservation of nature among students. 12 students attended the function. Ms Asha Raghavan Coordinator, VM Nature Club received the memento from Dr. M.S.Swaminathan

Teachers

The Padma Sarangapani, Cultural Academy, has conferred Mrs Bhavani Raghunandan our principal, with the title "PADMA VIDYASAGAR". She received a citation and a Padma Jothi as a mark of honour. The award was presented on September 5th, 2005- Teachers' Day by Dr. M.S.Palanisamy, Vice Chancellor of TN Open University.

Mrs. Shoba Raman, of our chemistry department has been selected for the Teachers Exchange Program, under the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship for Indian Nationals 2005 - 06. She is one among the 4 teachers selected from India for this program. She will be teaching Chemistry in Brattleboro Union High School, Vermont, USA, While Ms. Merribelle Coles from that school willl be teaching in Vidya Mandir for one Semester.

Mrs Shobha Raman was adjudged the first runner up in the National Competition on Teacher excellence conducted by the Rustom Irani Foundation of Bombay. No small honour . we are indeed proud of her.

Mr.M.Kothandaraman has been awarded the Best Maths Teacher by the Ramanujam Institute of Mathematical Sciences of the year 2004 - 2005.

Mrs. Bhavani Raghunandan attended the Principals' training program at IIM A conducted by CEMD Delhi. She also attended a Leadership Course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Students

Aswath Rabindranath was adjudged the first runner up in the Star Worlds India Child Genius

Aswath and Jayadev Bhaskar went on to win the Eischer National Quiz. In yet anther Quiz competition they won a trip to Mauritious

In the Quiz cnducted by Odyssey, the same team with Akshay Rangamani, won the Best school team award. Aswath is no doubt the student who has raked in the highest amount.

Not far behind is A P P Ganesh whose invention won a patent

Our students Atulya Prasad,Vaishnavi and Aditya were invited on a cultural tour to Singapore to take part and interact with many other students of the ASEAN countries . They had a tough time preparing a presentation on The Youth of India and a cultural programme .

Vidur Chari has been nominated to attend the 2005 Global Young Leaders Conference to be held in New York and Washington DC. This event is organized by the Congressional Youth Leaders Council based in Berkeley.

Jayadev Bhaskaran of Class 10C and Aashlesh Y of Class 10B were placed first at the National Level Jack Kiby Science & Technology Quiz conducted by Texas Instruments. The Final was held at Bangalore. Vidya Mandir Beat Sri Kumarans Bangalore and Bluebells International to secure the 1 st place. For details “Click here….”
